I had the chance to try out a half bag of Unscented Miss Lily's Washing Powder!  

 The day after I received my bag of Washing Powder, my 2 year old decided to pour grape juice down his white Sunday shirt!  I just KNEW that he had ruined his Sunday shirt and that I was going to have to buy a new one.  I decided, what they hey... let's try this Miss Lily's out!  I started to run a load of cold water and put my son's shirt in.  Then I put in 3 tbs of Miss Lily's in the load.  As soon as some of the Washing Powder hit the stain (literally the second it touched it) the stain turned from a deep purple to a very light blue!  I was stunned!  I ran the load (after yanking the shirt out because I forgot to take pictures of it) and was VERY IMPRESSED that the stain was COMPLETELY gone.


So... we know how Miss Lily's works on stains that aren't set in, but how does it do on our beloved cloth diapers!?  My sister had been having some issues with stinky diapers since she does not have a washer at home and had been washing her dipes in the tub with an EcoFriendly detergent.  She had attempted to strip her diapers in the washer and after several runs through hot rinses she was still getting suds.  We decided her diapers would be a true test.

We loaded up her diapers (probably about 16 in total) and soaked them with hot water and 4 tbs of Miss Lily's.  After 5 minutes we could see the muck coming off the diapers and into the soak!  We soaked her diapers for about 2 hours and then washed them as normal without any detergent (hot wash, two cold rinses).  After doing a sniff test (the smelt like fresh water) we through them in the dryer.  When her diapers came out the smelt fresh and clean.  We knew that the true test would come when she used them.  She reports that she only had one diaper that had the strong ammonia smell to it once being peed on!  We certainly were impressed.  I was sure that we were going to have to soak them overnight or run at least 2 washes on them for the diapers to come clean.  I stand corrected!

I also want to add that I really like how finely grain the Washing Powder is.  It truly is a powder!  I do not know why I like this so much, but hey, I am strange!  Each full size bag of washing powder will do 96 loads in a HE machine (or 48 loads in a standard... like me)!  That is only 11 cents a load (or 22)!!!
