Bumbledoo Nursing Cover Review and Giveaway - CLOSED

Let me start this review off by saying that I personally have no problem breastfeeding in public without a nursing cover.  I feel that if you too choose to nurse without a cover then that is your right and good for you:)  I know that nursing is natural and feel that people need to see women nurse their babies so that exclusive breastfeeding becomes the norm.  Now, off my soap box and on with the review.

My past experiences with trying to cover up while nursing have not really been positive.  With my first born I was shy about nursing in public (not because of fear that someone might see my breast, but that my tummy would be exposed... crazy, I know).  So, I would attempt to wait till we were home if at all possible or try to cover up with a blanket.  My son was not a fan of being covered while nursing (particularly as he got older), imagine that.  He would do everything in his power to rip the blanket off of him making for a larger scene.

Until I received my Bumbledoo Nursing Cover I think that I literally only covered up while nursing my daughter once (in the middle of Sacrament Meeting at church - which horrified my sister).  Needless to say, my daughter was not very happy with me the first time that I tried to use the cover.  The second time that I used the cover went much better!

My biggest issue with using a blanket (or the other covers I have tried) is that I cannot see my baby.  At this stage in breastfeeding (my babe is 8 months old) I do not NEED to see my baby in order for her to latch on. With a newborn you really do need to see your baby in order to establish a good latch on.  Having said that, I do WANT to see my baby while she is nursing and she sure as heck wants to see me.  An important part of breastfeeding is the emotional bond between mother and child and that comes largley through eye contact during breastfeeding.  I LOVE that with my Bumbledoo Nursing Cover I can actually see my baby!  The peek a boo neckline is perfect!

The Bumbledoo Nursing Cover has a nifty pocket on the inside of one of the bottom corners.  This would be great for your reusable nursing pads (which Bumbledoo also makes).  I found that it was really useful for holding a burp cloth.

The Bumbledoo Nursing Cover is the perfect size.  It is large enough to actually cover you and baby, but it is not bulky or stuffy.  The neck strap has snaps on it, which I love because it allows for easy, one handed, adjusting!  You do not have to deal with any pesky D rings or Velcro (hate to wash things with Velcro).  The strap allows for women of all sizes to use the cover with 5 different settings.

I love how well this cover folds up.  It easily fits inside a diaper bag or purse and it is lightweight!

I am always impressed with Bumbledoo's craftsmanship.  Malia (Mama Bumbledoo) is an amazing seamstress and puts a lot of hard work into her products and it certainly shows!  She makes sure that every one of her products is of the highest quality.
